June 12, 2015—Axalta Coating Systems is partnering with Young Men and Women in Charge (YMWIC) Foundation Inc. to help junior high and high school students prepare for collegiate programs and careers.
Axalta recently hosted YMWIC program participants at its Coating Technology Center in Wilmington, Del., where students were given the opportunity to job shadow chemists and research associates.
“It is truly our pleasure to give back to the communities in which our employees live and work. It is part of our corporate culture,” said Lisa Miree-Luke, Axalta’s corporate affairs head for North America. “YMWIC is making a difference and helping to pave the way for so many young people and the need for students schooled in STEM disciplines is increasingly important to Axalta and to society. The impact that the organization is making by providing these unique opportunities and experiences is simply brilliant.”
