According to a press release, ASE has announced that Eric Chester, a best-selling business author and former instructor, will be the 2023 ASE Instructor Training Conference’s keynote speaker.
The conference, for mechanical and collision repair instructors nationwide, will be hosted by the ASE Education Foundation in Concord, North Carolina, July 17-20. Chester’s presentation is titled “Building Rockets That Fly: Ensuring the Success of our Graduates.” It will center around helping graduates of automotive programs go on to achieve fulfilling careers.
Mike Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation, said Chester’s speech will provide teachers with “tools, tactics, ideas and strategies” to help their students succeed post-graduation.
“As an industry, we are doing a great job of educating students but not all of them reach the launching pad,” Coley stated, “and even fewer of them reach the heights of their career potential after graduation.”
Chester was previously a “career and technical education (CTE) instructor and youth motivational speaker” before going on to become a “workforce researcher” and writing best-selling books about business.
