NABC Holds Recycled Rides Giveaway in Houston

Farmers Insurance and Classic Collision came together to gift two newly refurbished vehicles as part of the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program.

March 7, 2023–Farmers Insurance and Classic Collision came together to gift two newly refurbished vehicles as part of the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program, according to a press release.

Technicians at Classic Collision collaborated with Farmers to restore a 2016 Ford Explorer and a 2014 Chevy Sonic. They were presented at a special event held February 14 in Houston, Texas.

The 2016 Ford Explorer was donated to the Family Promise of Montgomery County Texas, a nonprofit helping to support families in need to access the resources they need to survive and become independent.

The 2014 Chevy Sonic was donated to Harry Wiltz and Tracey Washington, local parents that were enrolled with the nonprofit organization Fort Bend Family Promise (FBFP). The family has recently endured losing a job, their car breaking down, and housing instability.

With the help of FBFP, the family has been able to gain “employment and transitioned to secure housing close to work and their son’s school.” With the Chevy Sonic, the Wiltz/Washingtons now have transportation again.
