From the launch of its new Ultra-High Performance All-Season tire, to the winners of Hankook’s “Tire Design for the Future Environment” competition, done in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP), there will be plenty to see at Hankook’s booth.
“Hankook Tire is dedicated to being a leader in advanced technology, innovation, R&D and education, and we are excited to have all of these elements on display at SEMA 2012,” said Soo Il Lee, President of Hankook Tire America Corp. “In the past year we have continued to gain significant market traction in North America as evidenced by multiple new OE agreements with major manufacturers and increased sales growth. We will continue to innovate and focus on providing consumers with the highest quality tires for peak performance, efficiency and safety, and our upcoming Ultra-High Performance All-Season tire is indicative of these efforts.”
The company's UHP tires recorded a robust 22.2 percent year over year increase in global sales in the second quarter with North American and overseas OE sales seeing the largest growth. Hankook’s newest Ultra-High Performance All-Season tire will feature innovative technology that enables highly efficient wet braking, maximum grip in all driving conditions, lower rolling resistance, improved durability and greater stability and handling performance. The new tire will be unveiled at a press conference at Hankook’s booth on Oct. 30 at 3:30 p.m., and will be on display at its booth (No. 43061) for the entire show.
SEMA 2012 attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the top two finishers in Hankook’s recently completed “Tire Design for the Future Environment” competition, learn more about their designs, and view actual prototypes of the next generation of tires. The competition included third year industrial design students from the University of Cincinnati and was conducted over a three month period from January through March 2012. Students were asked to create new tire designs based on their own visions of future cars, sustainability needs such as reducing and reusing raw materials used in tire production, and the importance of increasing tire efficiency and meeting specific tire performance targets.
Hankook Tire will also be wrapping up its recently completed ‘Hankook Heroes’ Facebook campaign by holding the first ever ‘Hankook Heroes Award Ceremony’ at SEMA 2012. ‘Hankook Heroes’ honors individuals in the community for the work they do using their cars and tires. Hankook Tire will also launch their new ‘Models vs. Drivers’ Facebook campaign at SEMA. For more information, please visit the Hankook USA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/HankookUSA.
