Continental has signed a multi-year
agreement to sell its commercial tires at
Trave
lCenters of America and Petro Stopping Center
sites throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The TA and Petro network is comprised of more than
220 locations; its truck maintenance and repair
centers employ 2,800-plus technicians.
Additionally, through TravelCenters’ RoadSquad program,
emergency replacement tires are available 24 hours a
day, all year round from more than 400 roadside
assistance vehicles.
“In order to support our national fleet and owner-
operator customers with greater distribution of Continental truck tires on the highway, we are
happy to announce our strategic partnership with the
TravelCenters of America and Petro Stopping Centers
network,” notes Continental Vice President Paul
Williams.
The agreement will allow more fleet and owner-
operator customers to buy replacement truck tires
“where and when needed, ensuring that they can get
back on the road quickly to continue hauling freight
across North America,” according to Tom Fanning,
Continental’s director of replacement truck tire
sales in the U.S.
“Our fleet customers, both large and small, count on
the reliability of replacement Continental truck
tires on a daily basis, says Fanning, noting that
“with our cooperation with TA, we are providing them
with even greater availability of both products and
services to help them control their driving costs
across North America. We’re excited that TA is
helping us expand our reach to these key customers,
no matter where their drivers need a tire.”
Among the tires being marketed are the HSL2 (Highway
Steer Long Haul), HDL Eco Plus (Highway Drive Long
Haul) and HTL Eco Plus (Highway Trailer Long Haul);
all three verified by the U.S. EPA SmartWay Transport
Partnership as being low rolling resistance.
