Missouri's Purcell Tire and Rubber Co. is unveiling a new 27,000-square-foot truck tire center in Jackson, just north of Cape Girardeau.

“This expansion will significantly increase our operations and purchasing power, providing our customers in Cape Girardeau with more products, more brands and more services,” reports John Shetley Jr., manager of the Jackson location along with an existing Cape Girardeau site.

“This expansion is a win-win for our company and our customers,” he adds, describing a boost in warehouse space allowing for an expanded array of tires available from Goodyear, Dunlop, Michelin, Hankook, Titan and Kelly.

A computerized truck alignment system from Hunter Engineering has already been installed, and a retreading service that includes off-the-road tires is being implemented.

Purcell, which was founded in 1936, will now be offering annual DOT inspections along with mechanical services such as big-rig fluid changes. The new facility will also provide 24-hour roadside tire assistance.

The Jackson site is near Interstate 55, and it has five-acre circular drive so truckers can easily enter and exit the premises, according to Shetley.
