Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions is discontinuing its line of Dayton truck and bus radial tires.

Effective Jan. 1, the elimination affects medium truck tire dealers and fleet customers in the U.S. only, and does not impact sales or availability of Dayton’s car and light truck tires, the company reports.

“This decision is based on the desire to simplify our product offering, making it easier for our distributors and customers to conduct business with us,” says Kurt Danielson, Bandag’s president.

“As a supplier who works with fleets to implement tire management solutions to lower overall operating costs,” he explains, “we feel that Firestone brand truck and bus tires will offer customers a viable alternative.”

It is anticipated that supplies of the Dayton tires will be available through the end of the year, according to Danielson, adding that warranties will continue to be honored.
