Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recommends that all maintenance and collision repairs be performed using Genuine Mazda Parts in order to provide an optimum level of performance, safety and durability. Genuine Mazda Parts are made from the same blueprint as the original parts found in production vehicles, ensuring that each part is guaranteed to perform seamlessly and wear the same as the day the vehicle was built, the company said.

MNAO does not recommend the use of aftermarket parts (or imitation parts) for any Mazda maintenance or collision repair. These aftermarket parts are generally made to a lower standard in order to cut costs and lack the testing required to determine their effectiveness in vehicle performance and safety, the company said. Without access to original manufacturing specifications, their fit and finish can also be dramatically different.

Only Genuine Mazda Parts purchased from an authorized Mazda dealer are specifically covered by the Mazda warranty. The original warranty could become invalid if aftermarket parts contribute to the damage of original parts, the company said. Even lease-end charges can be affected if the replacement parts fit poorly. MNAO said it will not be responsible for any subsequent repair costs associated with the vehicle or part failure caused by the use of parts other than Genuine Mazda Parts purchased from an authorized Mazda dealer.

Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif., and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Operations in Canada are managed by Mazda Canada Inc., located in Ontario; and in Mexico by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.
