Team PRP partner facilities generously participated in a myriad of charitable activities throughout the holidays.
Among these many gestures of goodwill, is the strong involvement in a “Trees for Troops” program by Wilbert’s, Inc. Wilbert’s, is a second-generation family automotive recycling business located in Upstate New York which also boasts a 100-acre-plus Christmas Tree farm as a side business.
Referred to by the Wilbert family as their “tree-dition,” working a tree farm has further provided a special opportunity to participate in their local “Trees for Troops” program which provides fresh trees to military personnel in the U.S. and overseas. The Wilberts have donated trees and assist hands-on with the program locally.
Lewisville Motor Co., a PRP member in Winston-Salem, N.C., has a broad range of charitable activities in progress, but is currently focusing on its local “Marine Toys For Tots Foundation” project, as seen in Lewisville’s latest 15-second commercial, currently being aired on local television.
In Phoenix, Team PRP partner Riteway Auto Parts has been very active in donating gifts for local children and families in need. Additionally, they were pleased to be able to make a sizable donation to benefit special needs children through a local Shrine Center program. Their donation was made possible by creating an innovative program at Riteway, dubbed “Give A Brake To Those In Need,” in which brake rotors and drums, made of cast iron with a high ferrous content, were collected separately and then sold to be recycled, with some of the proceeds being donated.
Stacy Bartnik, Team PRP’s executive director, emphasized that Team PRP partners across the nation often express how fortunate they feel to be able to “give back” through community outreach efforts, year round: “Our partners have always shown tremendous generosity, and we are extremely proud to see such dedication and charity amongst our members, especially at this time of year.”
