CARSTAR raises $22,000 for Make-A-Wish

A $22,232 check was presented to Kelsey Leichtnam, representing Make-A-Wish, by Liss CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts of Crown Point, Ind,, at their ninth annual Charity Golf Outing benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana – Indiana Region.

The event, hosted at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point, had 156 golf participants and countless hole sponsors. With the help of many generous donations and corporate sponsors such as 3M, Alkon, BASF, CCC, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Finishmaster, Hertz, Lansing Cleaners, Lear Corporation and United Services, Liss CARSTAR generated almost enough funds to grant three wishes.

The first wish was for Jazmine, a six-year-old girl from Griffith who has acute lymphoblastic Leukemia which is a fast-growing cancer affecting white blood cells. She knew exactly what she wanted when Wish-Granting Volunteers asked: to go to Walt Disney World® Resort. Jazmine is looking forward to meeting all of the princesses and maybe even dining with Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

The second wish was for Amy, a five-year-old girl from Crown Point battling Wilm’s Tumor. Wilm’s Tumor is one of the most common childhood tumors of the abdomen. When Wish-Granting Volunteers met with Amy, she knew exactly what she wanted: to go on a Disney Cruise. She has a love for the water and adores the Disney characters.
