Service King Collision Repair Centers has partnered with MetLife Auto & Home and Youth Villages and presented a refurbished Honda Odyssey to a local family in need at the Service King Nashville Golf Tournament in October.

This was Service King’s third presentation this year as a part of the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program.

“Reliable transportation is pivotal in many of our lives and something we easily overlook,” said Chris Abraham, Service King CEO. “We are honored to offer our time, services and resources to assist such a wonderful family. While this vehicle will be a means of reliable transportation, our wish is that it provides long-lasting benefits.”

Youth Villages, a private non-profit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully, nominated the Ward family to receive the refurbished vehicle. Robert and Brandie Ward and their five children were in attendance Monday to accept the donation.

“We are extremely grateful to be receiving this new van,” said Robert Ward. “Transportation has been a huge burden for our family, and we’re thankful for this gift. Youth Villages has had such an impact on our family, and we’re thankful for all the work they do for our community.”

Youth Villages nominated the Wards after working alongside the family for three years. Robert, a Desert Storm veteran who injured his back on duty, supports his family of seven on disability checks while continuing to surpass doctors’ expectations throughout his recovery.

The vehicle donation comes through MetLife Auto & Home who has been a Recycled Rides partner for four years.

“It is humbling to know that through MetLife Auto & Home’s partnership with the National Auto Body Council we’re able to make a positive difference in a family’s life,” said Richard Ward, Director, MetLife Auto & Home.

The National Auto Body Council has donated more than 800 vehicles through the Recycled Rides program since its inception in 2007.
