Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., introduced a measure that would reduce the enforcement of design patents from 14 to 2.5 years."Car owners lose big when car companies eliminate competition from alternative suppliers whose parts are anywhere between 25 to 50 percent less expensive," Issa said, according to the Detroit Press.
