The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) continues to release new video content for free on the association YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/SCRSCollision). To be notified as new material is released, click the “subscribe” button in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
This content is available on-demand, and the association encourages you to circulate the videos amongst your peers and colleagues, and to share within your social media channels. Two recent videos released in the past two weeks include full-length content from SCRS Repairer Driven Education (RDE) programs at the 2019 SEMA Show. The first video is the morning session from the OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit at the SEMA Show, exploring emerging trends in automotive technology.

This program covers the state of rapid change we are facing in automotive design. As structures, substrates and functions evolve to accomplish a more sophisticated, safe and feature-rich vehicle, many automakers seek out strategic partnerships in addition to internal design and development efforts to employ innovative technology applications. From the integration of autonomous technologies to mixed materials and light-weighting features, this presentation gives insight into vehicle complexity that drives changes in our space. In this presentation, the following panelists set the stage for what the industry can come to expect:

John Waraniak
Vice President, Vehicle Technology, SEMA

Matt Murphy
Chief Technology Officer, Material Sciences Corporation

Christian Ruecker
Managing Director, DEKRA Services Inc.

The next, and most recent video release features Mike Anderson of Collision Advice and Danny Gredinberg of the Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG, www.degweb.org)

The nearly 2 hour long training session covers how critical it is to review the owner’s manual to document necessary repair processes and gain consumer trust and confidence in a safe and proper repair.
