FenderBender Releases 2026 Industry Survey Report
Each year, the FenderBender Industry Survey Report provides a rare look inside collision repair shops to see how they're performing, what challenges they face, and the plans they're making for the future.
The report includes valuable insights and compelling data detailing KPIs, leadership, and technology and tools.
The survey's life spans an evolutionary era in the collision repair industry and shows trends that indicate some recent changes.
Some key findings this year:
- The number-one concern of survey respondents last year was insurer influence on the repair. This year's top concern, as it has been in recent years, is again the technician shortage.
- Beginning in 2024 and increasing last year and this year, more shops report a return to more DRP work.
- Shop owner and operators continue to invest in technology and tools and are better equipped for advanced materials. Shops are equipped with more OEM scan tools, and the number of shops reported to be equipped for in-house ADAS calibrations ballooned to 80% from 34% just two years ago.
- The number of shops reporting at least one OEM certification is at an all-time Industry Survey high of 83% this year.
In this report, you'll find this data and more in greater detail, providing a look at the state of collision repair in 2026.
