WIN Awards Scholarship to Top-Scoring SkillsUSA Female Tech

Sept. 27, 2013

Sept. 27, 2013—The Women’s Industry Network (WIN) announced that it awarded its annual WIN NACE Scholarship to Tessa Bramer, the highest scoring female technician in the national SkillsUSA Collision Repair Competition.

The scholarship allows Bramer to attend the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE), and includes a full-access NACE Expo Pass, airfare, lodging and associated expenses. NACE is a part of Automotive Service & Repair Week, which takes place Oct. 16–18 in Las Vegas.

Bramer will also receive a 2013–14 WIN membership.

This is the seventh straight year WIN has given out its WIN NACE Scholarship award.

Bramer graduated at the top of her class at Laramie County Community College. In 2013, she placed first in both the Refinishing and Collision Repair categories at the SkillsUSA Wyoming Auto Body Contests, and she was second in the SkillsUSA Wyoming Diesel Competition.

She was the top-scoring female at the National SkillsUSA Collision Repair Contest this summer, placing eighth among all (male and female) contestants.

“The WIN NACE scholarship goes to the heart of WIN’s mission to support and encourage women who are entering the industry, particularly those in the technical ranks. Surrounded by our amazing WIN members, this scholarship has consistently been a wonderful way to introduce young women to the collision industry,” said Teresa Bolton, director of collision repair test development at ASE and WIN’s scholarship co-chair.
