Crash Hunger program raises record funds

Aug. 1, 2011 — The Collision Industry Foundation's (CIF) Crash Hunger program, launched at the recent Collision Industry Conference (CIC) in Salt Lake City, raised more than $3,650—the largest sum of funds ever raised at a CIC meeting for charitable causes.

“The outpouring of support was awe-inspiring,” said CIF Chair Bill Shaw of PPG Industries in a press release_notes about the effort. “I am overwhelmed at how much this program has hit home with so many in our industry.”

Proceeds will go toward several national efforts such as Feeding America and the Utah Food Bank.

In addition to the latest fundraising effort, the CIF is allowing repair shops to make individual donations to Crash Hunger through the use of donation pads. Available for Crash Hunger through CIF at any time, each pad is $50 for 50 sheets at one dollar donation per sheet. Businesses are encouraged to have a donation pad at each of their locations and are asked to display each “bought” donation sheet on their wall.

Crash Hunger was launched as part of the Leave Something Behind Program, an initiative of CIC and CIF to leave a charitable contribution to several visited cities.
