Golden State Collision Centers donates vehicles to needy families

Dec. 12, 2011

Dec. 12, 2011—Golden State Collision Centers Inc. on Monday announced it will donate five refurbished vehicles this week to families in need through its fifth annual Giving Back to the Community Benevolence event.

The vehicles will be presented to the families Dec. 13 at Golden State Collision Centers’ Sacramento, Calif. facility.

Golden State Collision Centers said many of its local vendors donated time and services to refurbish the vehicles. Participating vendors included: AutoWest Dodge, Car Quest, LKQ Corp., Keystone Automotive, Ertl’s Automotive, The Dent Shoppe, John L. Sullivan, Standox, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Farmer’s Insurance Group and GEICO Insurance.

“Each year, we come across cars that are written off by either the owner or the insurance company. Often these older vehicles are simply in need of mechanical or bodywork to get them road-ready and safe to drive. In these economic times, Golden State believes there are people who really need them, and this is the basis of this annual program,” said Dave Finkelstein, owner of Golden State Collision Centers. “We are delighted to be able to not only continue this program, but also to increase our donation amounts in a time where people are still suffering economically. The gift of a vehicle is one that truly changes lives and we are honored to be able to connect with our local community in effecting a positive change.”

Golden State Collision Centers has donated 13 vehicles to families in need since launching its Giving Back to the Community Benevolence event in 2007.

Golden State Collision Centers, which was founded in 1993, operates five collision repair facilities in Roseville, Sacramento, Orangevale, Lincoln and Yuba City, Calif. For more information, visit
