CARSTAR launches Canadian driving-distraction-based ad campaign

Jan. 12, 2010

CARSTAR Automotive Canada Inc. launched the television and radio ad campaign, “Where Accidents Unhappen,” Jan. 1. It focuses on accidents caused by driving distractions.

The campaign, which uses clowns and animated special effects to exemplify the many potential distractions to drivers, will run until 2011, according to Sharon Welch, a CARSTAR spokeswoman.

The Hamilton, Ontario-based company will air during the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl pre-game show, although the campaign is strictly designed for Canada, according to Welch. CARSTAR has more than 400 locations throughout Canada and the United States.

CARSTAR employees in Canada will wear a "Where Accidents Unhappen" t-shirt the first Friday of every month in collaboration with the campaign.
