March 13, 2012

March 13, 2012—The first fully assembled 2012 CODA, an all-electric five-passenger sedan manufactured by CODA Automotive, rolled off the final assembly line on Monday.

The 2012 CODA will first be sold to reservation holders in California, according to CODA Automotive. But the vehicle will soon be available for purchase at dealerships throughout California, including the Del Grande Dealer Group in Northern California, Marvin K. Brown Auto Center in San Diego, and various other locations in the Los Angeles market. Additional dealerships will be announced in the future when the vehicle’s production level increases, CODA Automotive said.

"This is an incredibly exciting day for the CODA family and the EV community," said Mac Heller, executive chairman of CODA Holdings, the parent company of Los Angeles-based CODA Automotive. "Since day one, we've been dedicated to designing an electric car that provides the amenities that the American driver has come to expect, such as range, torque, and value. This car symbolizes our commitment to accelerating the adoption of EVs."

The 2012 CODA, which is able to drive up to 125 miles on a single charge, has a manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of $37,250. CODA Automotive said federal and state credits in California could bring the price down to $27,250.
