Service King to donate two vehicles through Recycled Rides program

Nov. 18, 2011

Nov. 18, 2011—Service King Collision Repair Centers on Friday announced it will donate two vehicles to families in need through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) 2011 Recycled Rides program.

Service King will donate a Toyota Camry to family in the Dallas market. The family currently gets around by walking, sharing rides and utilizing public transportation, according to Service King.

“This vehicle will absolutely change their lives and enable them to utilize their savings for a security deposit on an apartment and graduate from the shelter,” said Lynne Sipiora, executive director of McKinney, Texas-based The Samaritan Inn, the organization that connected Service King with the family.

A presentation ceremony will be held at The Samaritan Inn Nov. 21 at 4 p.m.

Service King will also donate a Dodge Stratus to a family in the Houston market. The recipient of the vehicle, Andreana Felix, is a single mother of four children. She walks her children to and from school daily, including transporting her son’s asthma machine.

The vehicle will be presented to the family Dec. 1.

“Repairing these two vehicles has been a labor of love for the whole team and it’s great to see it coming together, especially at this time of year. We know both families getting these vehicles will have a great holiday and that this donation will make a big difference for them,” said Cathy Bonner, president of Service King. “We’d like to thank all our 23 Dallas and Houston teammates for donating their time to repairing the vehicle, as well as our many vendors for supplying parts, in addition to Progressive Insurance who donated the vehicles. Without them, reaching this exciting moment would not have been possible.”

Service King Collision Repair Centers has 47 facilities throughout Texas.
