ABRA to donate two vehicles to families in need

Nov. 18, 2010

Nov. 18, 2010—ABRA Auto Body & Glass is donating two refurbished vehicles through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program, according to an ABRA press release_notes.

ABRA donated a 2000 Toyota Rav4 to the Family Support Center of Utah. The center will be giving the car to the chosen family on Nov. 22 in Murray, Utah, at a local ABRA shop. The family has a one-year-old who was born with an auto immune deficiency. The vehicle will help them take their baby to numerous doctor appointments.

“We chose Family Support Center because of their great reputation in helping families get back on their feet,” stated Greg Peeters, director of ABRA Auto Body & Glass-Utah.

ABRA also donated a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee to the Gateway Battered Women’s Services of Aurora and Arapahoe Counties in Colorado. Gateway will be giving the vehicle to a single mother on Nov. 22 at a local ABRA shop in Thornton, Colo. The woman receiving the car has a two-year-old daughter and relocated to Colorado due to domestic violence. Her work hours conflict with the public transportation times, but Gateway and ABRA’s donation will help her with her job.
