Axalta to Sponsor Painting Competition

Dec. 21, 2015—Axalta Coating Systems will be a sponsor of the painting skills competition at the Rush Truck Center’s 10th annual Tech Skills Rodeo, which is held Dec. 14-18 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Representatives from Axalta will also serve as judges.

The annual skills contest is open to technicians across the U.S. In order to qualify, a round of written tests must be passed. Technicians are pre-tested on their skills in 19 competition categories in the areas of heavy and medium-duty trucks. Their knowledge of parts and speciality areas, including paint and body repair, are also tested.

Axalta will sponsor a technical painting session for the top 10 finalists. Participants will be challenged to repair two truck parts and then complete the repair with an application of Axalta’s Imron Elite.
