Collision Shop Repaints Ronald McDonald

Feb. 4, 2014

Feb. 4, 2014—Keenan Auto Body Inc. recently completed a restoration of an iconic Ronald McDonald statue for a local emergency shelter that helps families and single women in the greater Philadelphia area.

Keenan Auto Body, a Clifton Heights, Pa.–based, 11-shop organization, said in an announcement on Monday that the statue is now back at the Wesley House Shelter in Chester, Pa., after receiving a thorough facelift.

“We are no strangers to rehabbing and painting abstract items and characters like Ronald,” said Keenan vice president and COO Michael LeVasseur. “In the late ’90s, we were hired to repair and paint the animals on top of the Frontier Saloon in Ridley Park, followed by repairing and painting the Nittany Lion at the Brandywine campus of Penn State and the paint blob located on Broad Street at the Pennsylvania Academy of fine arts, the oldest Academy of art in the county, so it didn’t take long to decide that we were on board.”

The painting process was completed with the help of a Collision Repair Opportunity Program student.

“It felt good to see a student excel at such a detailed project and knowing that it was for charity made it feel that much better,” said head Keenan painter Nate Tarr.

“Thanks to Keenan Auto Body, Ronald McDonald is back”, said shelter coordinator Sheiletta Corporal.
