DETROIT, July 31, 2014—I-CAR demonstrated its new industry resource, the Repairability Technical Support (RTS) Panel, on Thursday during the 2014 NACE/CARS Expo & Conference in Detroit.
The portal includes industry information on topics like original equipment manufacturers (OEM), partial parts replacements searches, the current top-10 vehicle-specific questions, collision repair news, and an option to ask the organization a question.
RTS is part of I-CAR’s initiative to connect the auto body repair industry to OEMs, and can be found online here. The site is also optimized for hand-held devices.
Jason Bartanen, I-CAR’s director of industry technical relations, demonstrated the site’s "Ask I-CAR" feature by calling the feature’s hotline to ask for repair information.
Bartanen said a team of full-time staff members is dedicated to responding to collision repair inquiries from users.
“The Repairability Technical Support Portal is all about finding solutions and helping the industry do the right repairs, and adding full-time technical specialists to be ‘on call’ just reinforces our deep commitment to this goal,” said Bartanen.
