Denver Program Asks Body Shops to Report Potential Hit-and-Runs

Sept. 18, 2014—The Denver Police Department has enlisted the help of area collision repair businesses for a new program in which shops help report potential hit-and-run cases to police, according to a report from FOX31 in Denver.
The Denver Auto Body Alert program “establishes two-way communication between police and local auto body businesses,” the DPD said according to the FOX31 report.
Shops that choose to participate in the program will be given information about potential suspect vehicles on a regular basis, and are asked to contact authorities before doing any work that could alter potential evidence.
