Delphi is acquiring the Boston-based startup to accelerate its development of autonomous cars.

The company's goal is to use NuTonomy's autonomous system in commercial vehicles in limited areas by 2019.

This acquisition comes almost a month after the company decided to rename itself 'Aptiv' to show its focus to on developing safety and self-driving technologies.
