Aug. 7, 2019—General Motors recently opened an ACDelco and GM Genuine Parts processing center near Flint, Mich., reported The Detroit Free Press. The factory cost $65 million, the largest GM investment in a parts warehouse in more than 40 years.
The center will keep jobs in the region and improve the speed at which dealers can get parts to service cars, according to GM.
The 1.1-million-square-foot plant, located on 141 acres, is triple the size of the former facility that sits a few miles away. Suppliers ship car parts to this new warehouse where they are packaged and sent to GM's regional distribution centers around the country. The regional distribution centers then ship the parts to dealers for warranty and service work on customers' cars.
