Southeast Collision Conference
Immediately after the national Collision Industry Conference (CIC) concludes at the Omni Richmond just a day prior, Mike Anderson (Collision Advice) will kick off the day's events as the first speaker at the Southeast Collision Conference (SCC), April 14-15 at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell, Virginia (just north of Richmond).
The Collision Professional Repairer Education Program, or P.R.E.P., classes offer emerging insights and valuable information, both in reparability of advanced vehicles and management for profitability and success. The conference will be centered around a vibrant tradeshow of vendors, offering cutting edge business solutions and products for the industry. The lineup continues Friday with a panel discussion featuring EV OEMs, such as Rivian and Lucid, in addition to traditional OEMs who have released all-electric models. Moderated by an astute collision repairer, they will discuss the considerations needed prior to, during, and post-repair of these specialized cars, including the storage and battery maintenance needs differing from the ICE counterparts.
Four additional class options round out the day, including sessions back-to-back for ADAS integrations to the collision business offered from Frank Terlep of OPUS IVS and Josh McFarlin of AirPro Diagnostics, labor types and rates considerations with John Shoemaker of BASF, and repair planning with Danny Gredinberg of the DEG. With another full Saturday of opportunity, the dual option kick-off features OEM certification program managers Dennis Smoyer and Rick Miller of Wadsworth Int'l - Subaru / Jaguar Land Rover talking about shop processes and compliance, as well as an organization profitability seminar with Mark Olson, VECO Experts.
Then, repairers will be interacting with panel discussion of local- and nationally recognized colleagues to talk about current shop issues and objectives to position their businesses for the future, together. In the afternoon is a repair planning class from Michael Bradshaw of K&M Collision, detailing the benefits in both efficiency and profitability of re-evaluating the process for repair estimate and documentation. The classes will not only inform but engage and challenge what repairers think about the current and future state of the industry and their place in it. It will bring them opportunities to implement new strategies to improve their business, and the way they interact with the larger industry segments.
