Dana Incorporated announced today the introduction of a Spicer® one-piece aluminum driveshaft for the sixth-generation (S550) Ford Mustang at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, held here through Nov. 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The new Spicer driveshaft fits 2015-2018 Ford Mustangs and weighs up to 19 lbs. less than the factory-installed version, enabling quicker acceleration and improved driving performance.  The Spicer one-piece design also eliminates the need for a center support bearing, eliminating weight and power-robbing friction. “The S550 Mustang continues this marque’s heritage for performance,” said Peter Cirulis, vice president of customer experience, strategy, and product planning for the Dana Aftermarket Group.  “The new Spicer aluminum driveshaft is a precision-engineered, bolt-in improvement for the Mustang that increases both response and acceleration. It’s an expansion of Spicer one-piece performance driveshaft solutions for the Mustang that already includes the Fifth Generation (S197) platform.” The Spicer one-piece aluminum driveshaft bolts directly to the original-equipment Mustang flange which eliminates run-out and reduces vibration.  The driveshaft is designed with a diameter of 3.5 inches. Dana will highlight a number of new products at its exhibit at SEMA, Booth No. 36193, located in the South Hall Upper at the Las Vegas Convention Center. More information about the Spicer one-piece aluminum driveshaft for the sixth-generation Ford Mustang is available at www.SpicerParts.com, or by calling Dana Customer Service at 1-800-621-8084.
