Dr. Peter H. Diamandis, chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, will be the speaker of the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show New Product Awards Breakfast, Nov. 3, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Widely recognized as a leader in fostering innovation through competition, the X PRIZE Foundation began a revolution in private spaceflight with the $10 million Ansari X PRIZE. Diamandis heads up the organization and is focused on bringing about radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity by encouraging innovators to solve some of the greatest challenges facing the world today.
Among the Foundation’s current projects is the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE, a multimillion prize to create clean, safe and super fuel-efficient vehicles. The New Product Awards Breakfast takes place immediately before the Show floor opens on opening day. It is at the breakfast where the best new products are announced for the first time.
Winning products are identified from the New Products Showcase. Open to all exhibitors, the New Products Showcase is a program that allows exhibitors to increase exposure for their products.
In addition to being considered for an award, submissions are displayed in a centralized location so that buyers can view thousands of the newest products without having to walk through 2-million-square feet of exhibits and attractions.
Buyers visiting the New Products Showcase are also able to have details and images of selected products e-mailed directly to them. Additionally, photos -- and, for the first time this year, video -- of all the new products are pushed to media throughout the world.
Tickets to the New Product Awards Breakfast are free, but available on a first-come, first served basis as space is limited. Orders can be placed using the special event ticket order form at www.semashow.com/forms/EventReservations.aspx.
Exhibitors interested in having a product considered for an award and/or entered into the Showcase can use the online form at www.semashow.com/newproducts.
