According to the 2017 FenderBender Tech+Tools Survey, getting reimbursed for pre- and post-repair scans may come down to having the right processes in place.
While FenderBender’s 2014 Tech+Tools survey lacked questions about scan tools, the 2017 survey provided some insight into what has become one of the biggest issues in the collision repair industry. Many shop owners experience trouble with insurance companies when getting reimbursed for pre– and post-repair scans—but others, according to 2017’s survey, have little challenge. The biggest difference may be having a process in place for ensuring scans are performed when necessary.
