The Collision Industry Foundation announces it’s given $5,000 each to two Detroit charities as part of its “Blanket the City” campaign to help distressed communities. Bill Shaw of PPG Industries Inc. and John Bosin of Leanbosin presented the checks to the Gleaner’s Food Bank and the Downtown Detroit Partnership, which administers the city’s Clean Downtown project. The foundation chose Detroit because it’s among the nation’s hardest-hit automotive communities. “We know that the economy has severely impacted charitable giving. We are proud to be able to deliver these funds, which represent a gift from the collision industry to the families of the motor city,” said Bosin.
