FBMC Opening Day
LOMBARD, Ill., Sept. 27, 2017—The first day of the FenderBender Management Conference kicked off Wednesday at The Westin Lombard near Chicago with two Super Session workshops led by Dan Sjolseth and Brian Greenley.
Sjolseth, owner of Superior Service Center, led a session that looked at the processes, systems and technology that have helped push Sjolseth’s independent shop to industry leading numbers. Head to the FenderBender Facebook page to get a tip on going lean.
Brian Greenley, president, Greenley Enterprises Corporation DBA Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting, gave attendees an inside look at how he’s used innovative processes and an analytical approach to performance measurements to achieve industry-leading profitability numbers during his session “Profitability Bootcamp.”
Greenley's session examined how every area of the shop affects profitability, from sales and his production concept to the mix of business and parts. He shared Maaco's "tube concept;" In order for this to work, the salesperson must stay involved and keep in constant communication with the production manager. An understanding of the way the shop is set- p on the salesperson's end before repairs are sold is crucial. If this is done, work can flow through without creating jams, resulting in a "tube of funnel."
Attendees capped the day at the event’s orientation party.
The FenderBender Management Conference is a three-day, hands-on educational event for owners and operators of collision repair businesses.
