Sept. 7, 2017—The panelists and topic for the FenderBender Management Conference panel discussion have been announced.

This year, the topic will be “Recipe for Success” and will feature Dean Fisher, David Roberts and Randy Sattler. The three will discuss the many different directions that collision repair shops are being pulled in today—from the greater influence of OEs to evolving insurance programs to higher standards for training. These shop leaders will tackle what it takes for a shop to make it in today’s complex market.

Fisher is the COO of CARSTAR. For 38 years, Fisher owned multiple automotive related companies and joined CARSTAR in 1991 as a franchise store owner and moved over to corporate franchise operations in 2014. In 2012, Fisher was named CARSTAR’s franchisee of the year.

Roberts in the managing director of FOCUS, a team of six investment professionals with experience advising entrepreneurs, acquirers and investors in paint distribution, collision repair, dealerships and mechanical services. In the past two years, his team has closed 11 paint distribution and collision repair industries. Roberts brings a wealth of experience to this panel. In 1995, he co-founded Caliber Collision and served as Chairman of Caliber through 2003. Prior to Caliber, Roberts was a securities analyst and portfolio manager. Robers will also be involved in a Talk on shop valuation.

Sattler is the manager at Rydell Collision Center. Sattler has consistently grown his shop each year in volume due to a willingness to experiment with new models and methods while remembering that relationships are the key to a successful business. In addition to the panel, Sattler will also deliver a session “Make Changes Stick.”

The FenderBender Management Conference, scheduled from Sept. 27-29 in Chicago, will include educational sessions, deep-dive workshops, panel and roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities all aimed at helping shop owners and managers make money, save money and work smarter. Conference sessions and speakers were inspired by the best FenderBender magazine content and the most pressing topics in the industry today.
