PPG Announces Technician Certification Training Programs

April 27, 2017

April 27, 2017—PPG announced this week that it is offering additional certification training programs. The added training is in response to OEMs’ introduction of increasingly complex finishes.

“We want to ensure that collision center technicians are experts in using our products,” said Randy Cremeans, PPG director of training for automotive refinish, in a statement.

Once certified by PPG, paint technicians must then be recertified every two years to stay current on the latest PPG products and repair processes. Additionally, having a certified painter is among the requirements for collision centers offering PPG’s Lifetime Limited Paint Performance Guarantee.

PPG’s certification courses, which are offered at PPG Business Development Centers across North America, last a minimum of eight hours over one or two days. To learn more about the company’s training, schedules, locations and course descriptions, visit ppgrefinish.com.
