QuickBooks Adds New Features to Online Platform

The new features include Find-A-ProAdvisor, which helps locate QuickBooks experts in your region, and Partial Purchase Orders, which allows you to record payment in batches.

Feb. 22, 2017—QuickBooks Online introduced a host of new updates and upgrades to the platform.

The new features start with the redesigned Find-A-ProAdvisor, which helps locate QuickBooks experts in your region. Based on the insights from small business owners, an enhanced search will let you find the expert that fits with your business quickly.

Another update, Partial Purchase Orders will let you record payment in batches, for any customers using a pay plan. This helps to keep track of partial transactions by linking them together so you can see expenses and inventory accurately. And when all the linked transactions are complete, QuickBooks closes the account automatically.

The now-expanded Copy and Blind Copy feature—which was previously only available for invoices previously—now allows you do the same for estimates, sales receipts, credit memos and refund receipts.

Another feature is QuickBooks Self-Employed feature, which utilizes optical character recognition. By simply taking a picture of receipts, the app will extract and enter dates, vendor names, totals and other receipt data automatically.

Invoice Tracker and Payments follows each invoice from the time it is created until it is paid off, along with any associated transactions. This includes fees, deposit batch, errors and other payment details.

These all follow another slew of updates made available in December 2016.
