Next-Gen Jeep Wrangler to Sport Aluminum Hood, Doors

Sept. 19, 2016—The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will use aluminum in parts of its body panels, according to a leaked memo from Alcoa.

The memo showed that Alcoa, a supplier of lightweight materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, has been contracted by Jeep to supply three different types of lightweight alloys for body panels, including the inner and outer portions of the hood, and the inner door panels.
