MoKan CARSTAR Grants 3-Year-Old’s ‘Wish’

Sept. 16, 2014

Sept. 16, 2014—The MoKan CARSTAR Business Group announced recently that it helped send a 3-year-old boy named Becquer, who overcame a rare form of eye cancer, to Disney World and meet Captain America through Make-A-Wish Kansas City.

“We chose Becquer because our hearts went out to the battle he has had with this rare form of cancer that could have taken his eyesight,” says Gerald Wicklund, spokesperson for the MoKan CARSTAR Business Group. “His wish was to see Captain America before he lost his eyesight. We're thankful that the cancer is in remission, his eyesight is normal and we we're able to grant his wish.”

The 14 CARSTAR stores in the Kansas City area hosted a golf outing in Liberty, Mo., to help raise the money. Major sponsors of the event included Hertz, LKQ/Keystone Auto Parts, Cable Dahmer-Chevrolet, Midway Auto Parts, and O’Reilly Auto Parts.
