Sept. 9, 2014—The numbers are in from the 2014 I-CAR Conference in Detroit, and I-CAR announced on Monday that it will have the event tied to Industry Week on a biennial basis moving forward.
Conference registration was up 50 percent over 2013, an I-CAR release stated, as I-CAR’s annual event ran in accordance with the NACE/CARS Expo & Conference for the first time. Combined with the Collision Industry Conference, which is traditionally held in conjunction with the I-CAR event, all three industry events took place at the Cobo Center in Detroit in late July under the newly formed banner of Industry Week.
The biennial schedule is a shift for I-CAR, as the conference is normally an annual event, and I-CAR said it will continue to be co-located with NACE/CARS. The conference will also continue its technology theme, as it highlighted a number of issues at this year’s event that are accelerating the “Technical Tsunami” in the industry.
“Changing from an annual to a biennial Conference allows us time to effectively study the evolving technology landscape and continue to produce a relevant, thought-provoking Conference, with a line-up of quality speakers, that offers new insights to all segments of our audience,” I-CAR Senior Marketing Director Ann Gonzalez said. “Attendees have come to expect that I-CAR will deliver exceptional presentations and fresh perspectives, and we want to continue delivering on that expectation.”
In 2015, I-CAR will continue its live demonstrations and presence at NACE/CARS.
