Nov. 30, 2010—The Collision Repair Education Foundation and the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation announced on Tuesday the winners of the GEICO Tool Grant Program.
The following schools received $1,500 in tool purchases:
• Chantilly Academy in Chantilly, Va.;
• Cypress College in Cypress, Calif.;
• Lake Technical Center in Eustis, Fla.;
• Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education Center in Port Ewen, N.Y.
The four winning schools also applied for the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant, according to an Education Foundation press release_notes. GEICO has committed to awarding the tool grant again in 2011 and has pledged $15,000 to the Collision Repair Education Campaign.
“The Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant program not only invests in collision repair schools and students, it provides a stark reminder of the needs these schools have to fund and equip their collision programs to properly teach their students,” said Scott Kruger, Collision Repair Education Foundation executive director. “GEICO has stepped up and made a direct investment into the students who will be our future collision repair technicians. On behalf of these four schools, thank you to … GEICO for their continued donations and support.”
