Oct. 20, 2016—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP-MN) recently hosted a body shop discussion for members in Roseville, Minn., addressing OEM certification programs.

A panel of local collision shop representatives shared lessons learned from participating in OEM certification programs for various makes and models. The group noted that key factors to consider when calculating return on investment include investments in facilities, tools and equipment, and employee training.

George Maris, collision parts market manager at American Honda Motor Company, was on hand to share a manufacturer’s perspective on what’s driving the development of these programs, as well as the expectations and future direction that OEM certification programs may take.
