Oct. 5, 2015—Axalta Coating Systems announced on Thursday the promotion of Steve Markevich to executive vice president. In this new role, Markevich will continue as president of the company’s transportation coatings business and will now be responsible for all of Axalta’s operations in greater China.
China represents many opportunities for the sustained growth of coatings applications. It is an important market for the production of both light and commercial vehicles, the company said in a release. China’s development also requires a variety of industrial coatings that are used in electrical systems, construction, hundreds of commercial applications and in vehicles.
In his new position, Markevich will be able to promote Axalta’s China growth strategy by integrating the contributions that Axalta’s many coating technologies can provide to multiple industries.
