2013 I-CAR Conference to Focus on Technology

May 7, 2013

May 6, 2013—I-CAR on Monday announced it has redesigned its annual conference with a new format focused on technology-related topics highly relevant to the entire collision repair inter-industry, including repair organizations, vehicle manufacturers, insurers, educators, suppliers and related service providers.

The theme for I-CAR’s 2013 Inter-Industry Conference is “Driving Excellence...In Technology: The Changing World of Vehicle Technology & What it Means to You.” The conference is meant to benefit industry leaders who recognize that vehicle technology changes are significant, moving quickly and represent substantial changes for the collision repair industry.

I-CAR said technical leaders from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Center for Automotive Research, vehicle OEMs and OEM suppliers will share information on vehicle technology developments coming soon to the collision repair industry.

“Our focus for the conference is to help our industry better understand the impact associated with rapidly evolving vehicle technologies such as collision avoidance, telematics, and CAFE-driven vehicle light-weighting and architecture changes, and to learn about these directly from the technologists that are helping to create the future,” said John Van Alstyne, president and CEO of I-CAR.

This year’s conference is scheduled for July 24-25 at the Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston. The event will also include a luncheon, networking reception, sponsor showcase, panel discussion, presentations from Van Alstyne and I-CAR’s board of directors, and the presentation of four national awards.
