CARSTAR, NABC to Make Big Donation on Veteran’s Day

Nov. 2, 2015

Nov. 2, 2015—CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts has joined the National Auto Body Council (NABC) to donate over 130 vehicles on Veteran’s Day. On Nov. 11, the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, along with several national and local partners, will donate vehicles through the NABC’s Recycled Rides project.

This year, seven CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts locations in Connecticut, Illinois, New York and Ohio are participating in the giveaway.

“Recycled Rides is a labor of love for every single member of NABC and we are humbled that Progressive has nearly doubled the amount of cars donated this year since the event began in 2013,” said Chuck Sulkala, executive director of National Auto Body Council. “With transportation, these veterans and their families have access to basic necessities many of us take for granted like medical treatment, jobs and education.”

Participating CARSTAR stores include:

  • CARSTAR Pete’s of South Windsor – South Windsor, CT, and CARSTAR Kar Kare – Ellington, Conn.
  • 2011 Volkswagen CC
  • CARSTAR Ray’s Auto Body – Bristol, Conn., and CARSTAR Berlin – Berlin, Conn.
  • 2013 Hyundai Elantra
  • CARSTAR Scola’s Collision Center – Brookfield, Ill.
  • 2015 Chevy Equinox
  • CARSTAR ColorMagic Collision – Columbus, Ohio
  • 2009 Ford Edge
  • CARSTAR Eastern Hills – Williamsville, N.Y.
  • 2012 Nissan Rouge

Keys to Progress is one of the single largest donations of vehicles in the history of the Recycled Rides program.

“We have a great and caring family of CARSTAR owners,” said Dan Young, senior vice president of insurance relations for CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts, a member of the NABC Board of Directors and Chairman of the Distracted Driving Committee. “We are proud of those who are honoring our nation’s military members by helping restore these vehicles.  What Progressive has done in putting on this program is an incredible example of how the collision industry can come together to help make these deserving heroes’ lives better.”
