May 19, 2014—LaMettry’s Collision Inc., a multiple-shop operation with eight locations in Minnesota, this week will donate a refurbished 2008 Ford Edge to the family of a fallen soldier through the National Auto Body Council’s 2014 Recycled Rides program.
A LaMettry’s will present the vehicle to the family of U.S. Army Private First Class Kham Xiong. Xiong was assigned to the 510th Engineer Company in Fort Hood, Texas, where he was killed during the shooting that took place in November 2009.
Recycled Rides is a nationwide program in which collision repair shops, insurers, suppliers and vendors collaborate to refurbish and donate vehicles to families and service organizations in need. Hundreds of vehicles are gifted each year across the country through the program.
State Farm donated the vehicle.
