July 8, 2014—LKQ Corp. and Chrysler Group entered into a Patent License Agreement, nullifying a lawsuit filed by Chrysler earlier this year.
According to a recent announcement from LKQ, the license agreement will allow alternative and speciality parts provider, LKQ, to distribute aftermarket collision parts covered under some Chrysler design patents in the U.S.
In January, Chrysler filed a complaint against LKQ alleging that some of the aftermarket parts the company was distributing infringed on Chrysler’s Dodge Ram pickup truck design patents.
That suit was dismissed as part of the new license agreement, but further details about the agreement remain confidential, according to the release.
