AkzoNobel Appoints New Director of Vehicle Refinishes

Feb. 11, 2014—AkzoNobel announced Monday that Doug Holmberg will take the lead as director of vehicle refinishes in North America. 

The appointment is part of a global initiative that is designed to position the Automotive & Aerospace Coatings (A&AC) business for expanded growth and market-leading performance within the aftermarket business of the passenger and commercial vehicle sectors worldwide.

In this new role, Holmberg will be responsible for leading the U.S. and Canadian business responsible for the Sikkens, Lesonal, Wanda, Sikkens Autocoat BTLV and U-Tech brands in the automotive, truck and fleet segments. He is also responsible for ensuring the alignment of AkzoNobel’s strategic goals overall within its North America vehicle refinishes business.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to take on this expanded role for AkzoNobel and A&AC North America, especially at this time,” said Holmberg. “Our industry is at an historic point in its development. Process optimization methods and consolidation forces are affecting all parts of the industry, from work provider, to distribution and to collision centers.”

An AkzoNobel veteran, Holmberg has held a number of key leadership roles, including his most recent position as director of sales for vehicle refinishes at A&AC North America.
