Aug. 28, 2015—On Thursday, Service King Collision Repair Centers and Allstate Insurance announced a partnership to donate a refurbished 2004 F-150 to Family Promise of Greater Phoenix through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program.

Family Promise, a group that provides emergency shelter and services for homeless families in the Phoenix area, had expressed the need for a truck since opening its doors in 2000. The presentation of the vehicle took place at Service King’s Mesa, Ariz. location.

“As an emergency shelter for homeless families in the Phoenix area, the donation of this truck is a game-changer for our families,” said Ted Taylor, Family Promise executive director. “It will be used to pick up donations of furniture, clothing and kitchen supplies for our families who lose virtually everything when they become homeless. In addition, our ability to shuttle supplies for our programs and move our families to their new housing will be transformative for many years to come. We are so thankful for this very generous gift.”

The vehicle was donated by Coparts in Salt Lake City and was restored by Service King technicians at its Mesa, Ariz. repair center. LKQ and AutoNation Ford partnered in supplying a remanufactured engine and donated parts to assist with vehicle repairs.

Thursday’s giveaway is Service King’s fourth donation of the year to the Recycled Rides program.
