SCRS to Host First-Ever OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit
Aug. 7, 2014—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will, for the first time ever, host an OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit during the 2014 SEMA Show, the SCRS announced Thursday.
The OEM summit will feature panelists from companies that produce sophisticated structural designs and technological advancements. The session aims to bring technical insight into the design, architecture and development of vehicles, as well as how those developments impact the repair process, according to an SCRS press release.
"There is really no topic more captivating of everyone's attention right now than the rapidly changing landscape of automobile technology, and how it is driving adaptation in the collision repair marketplace," said Ron Reichen, SCRS chairman. "It is a topic that has broad-reaching impact on everyone in the industry and it was important to both SCRS and SEMA to develop a forum that would address the significant interest from all who are making the investment to join the industry in Las Vegas this fall."
The event will also include additional panel discussions with representatives from repair facilities, equipment suppliers, certifiers and auditors, and special presentations from the aluminum and steel industries. The discussion will be moderated by Jason Bartanen, I–CAR’s director of industry technical relations.
The SEMA Show will be held Nov. 4–7 in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit is scheduled for Nov. 5.
