Aug. 28, 2014—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) this month is remembering March Taylor, whose work was the catalyst and inspiration behind the creation of the Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG), according to an SCRS announcement.

Taylor, who passed away in August of 2007 was a “fixture within SCRS, the SCRS Board of Directors and a mentor” to many at the organization, the SCRS said in a press release Friday.

The DEG he helped to inspire aims to address collision repair estimates data through proactive feedback from the collision repair industry to the information providers (IPs) that supply the databases for various estimating products. The program was created and is funded and maintained by SCRS, Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) and Automotive Service Association (ASA).

“The DEG and all of its successes are dedicated to the memory of our good friend, March Taylor,” the SCRS said in a press release.

Visit the DEG website for more information about the program.
